3A Trip

1 Bike, 2 Idiots, 3 Days, 11 Districts and 1050 KM that’s what can make this journey too adventurous. An Amazing Adventure trip, that’s what I would call it. It all began with a dream to travel to some place far enough on cycle. Those were the days when I used to nurture this dream. It was around Year 2000 when I had just passed my school and entered into college. The dream was to travel Daman on cycle from Vasai – a place outskirts’ to Mumbai (where I used to live at that time). Though being a kid and no access to cycle, it never came true. Yet the dream was in eyes with full power in mind & heart to fulfill the same.

Things changed and the circumstances too. A kid was now grown up kid with Bike in hand leave the cycle. Daman got more adventurous and was replaced with Saputara. Now this time, more seriousness in eyes and risk in heart, I discussed the plans with friends. One said “sounds good but let me think” another said “What? Are you mad?” …. Wow Now I need to ask him that Am I Mad? I murmured “Buddy Since birth I am listening this and you are not new to say the same”.

Things moved on “No No No” was the answer from most of them. I got bucked and thought to change the plan. Later I modified this adventure trip of bike and asked them “Lets go to Saputara – May be by Bus”. Yes we can do that – Said one. To this another said “Yes, I wish to come too but probably we would leave another day and not on 24^th” he had his commitments. Unfortunately things did’nt moved as planned.

Surprisingly, I got another idea and discussed the same with one of my cousin. What you saying “By Bus? But you initially told me by Bike. Oh yeah I remembered “I did had a talk with him 2-3 weeks back and he was quite interested too”. Ok doesn’t matter we can go on bike…. I said. To this he said let’s see I shall confirm you by evening.

With no hopes of going to Saputara, plans for other places such as Agra, Jaipur, Ranthambore, Bandhavgarh National Park, Gir Forest, Dholavera, Pirotan Island, Mandhvi Beach, etc got in vain too due to some or other constraints. This was the first time when I was irritated as 4 days holidays and I don’t have any plan nor company to visit anywhere?

Huh… that’s what I said to myself. And then I started searching for websites and finding people who can accompany me… be it strangers but I would love to find some company… that’s what I told to myself. With this hope in eyes… I started posting in few forums. On this I also discussed about this with few of my friends from Singapore. Asked them, how you all plan your trip that too solo? What motivates you? Yes few of my Singapore friends are great traveler and that too solo. I would love to learn these tricks from them. To this Yashira & Fang Wie both replied…. Its more of adventure, fun, loving yourself, exploring yourself, etc etc. I was like… whatttt… and how about difficultly that one might face if one gets stuck somewhere? That’s what more adventurous…. Hehehe and how you plan it… said one. I am like “Amazing, you all should be nominated with Travel Oscar (thought in my mind). But thanks to them, who motivated and showed me another way of travelling.

Well to this, I again got back on search of my travel partner and planning my trip and suddenly on last day, i.e 24^th Dec 2009 at around 3PM I made a call to my cousin. I was about to initiate my call, when I got reply on chat from my friend that “let’s go on 25^th Night instead of day” and I was like “leave it, let’s cancel the plan” as I don’t like to waste the time. What will I do sitting at home on 25^th? We will go for a movie 3 idiot, he said. I will be going tonight; I had already booked the tickets… I replied. To this I was dishearten, as I don’t like to cancel my travel plans L

The phone got disconnected and the plans were shattered too. I was sitting with sad face, hoping some miracle takes place. I can travel alone, as I never been before? I don’t have any company as of now? I don’t want to go to some nearby places or Mumbai as many were going there and I had been to such places numerous times. What should I do…..
