Asian Youth Energy Summit - 2009

30 Foreign participants belonging to 10 different Nation, sharing a common platform with a common cause “Save the Environment, Reduce the Global Warming & Use the Clean Technology” that is what we can say in a nutshell about What was AYES.

Energy Carta is a non-profit organization founded in Singapore by a team of young adults who want to make a positive impact on the world with their passion for clean technology, sustainable development, the environment, and a desire to invoke change through their actions. The Asian Youth Energy Summit is a regional youth conference that seeks to highlight opportunities and challenges in sustainable energy related industries to students and young professionals from across Asia. Organised by Energy Carta in its second-year running, the theme for AYES2009 is "Opportunities, Solutions and Policies".

The Various topics covered were as follows.

- Opening Ceremony by Minister for Community Development, Youth & Sports – Dr. Vivian Balakrishnan

- The Emerging Green Collar Economy

- A Glimpse of the Sustainable City

- Renewable Energy

- Urgency of Policy Action for South East Asia

- Cleantech startups & entrepreneurs experience in Singapore

- The Future of Energy by Chief Executive, Energy Market Authority, Singapore.

AYES was very informative, focused and connecting towards clean energy, climate change & sustainable development which is essential considering towards the forthcoming Copenhagen Summit in December.
