Railway Counter

Its been long since i posted a new article. After writting articles on Education, Philosophy, Travel, Movie Review, Love, Poems, etc. I though lets write something on social issues. In regards to this, I am posting a mail which was mailed to Railway department in Secundrabad, Andhrapradesh.

Dear Sir,
This is with reference to my visit to Secunderabad Railway Station on 2nd Nov, 2008 (Sunday) at 0730 Hours. I was at the Ticket Counter near to Platform No. 10. The counter for Enquiry & Platform ticket was empty. There was no one present over there inspite of waiting for 10-15 min. There were many passengers waiting for issue of Platform ticket and enquiry. Who is responsible for there time and problem that they face.

Later, after asking to a employee sitting at another counter issuing the tickets regarding Issue of Platform ticket; he informed that One need to issue it from the Weight Checking Machine kept beside the counter. This BMI Machines takes 5 Rs. and checks the weight, height & BMI along with Platform ticket printed on it. Now the question is "Why shall we pay Rs. 5 for just Platform ticket when we don't need to check our weight, height, etc.

I would be thankful to you all if you can let me know few things.

1) Why shall a passenger pay Rs.5 for a platform ticket when he/she doesn’t want to check his weight/height/BMI (every time).
2) If any query/enquiry arise than who is responsible to solve the same. (As no one is available on that counter)
3) Suppose a passenger is in urgency and he need to issue platform ticket & doesn’t have Rs.5 coin (which happened today morning with one boy), then from where he shall arrange the same at instant.

Kindly find the attached snaps of Passengers waiting at counters, Empty Enquiry/Platform Ticket Counter and the BMI machine which issues platform ticket.
Hope to hear from you all.
Regards

Without platform ticket you are not entitled to enter railway station, therefore, it is mandatory for all. Irrespective of the fact that the cost of platform ticket is Rs. 3/-.

For second query one should knock the doors of higher authority’s wat else one can do.

According to me, the passenger is at fault, he has to plan accordingly to reach in time. However, as I said earlier the rate of platform ticket is Rs. 3/-, the visitor can collect the same from ticket counter even if its empty, then there is a BMI machine again which leads to an inconvenience for not knowing how it operates.

What really needs to be done, like in an Airport, the commuter takes boarding pass and subsequently an airport official allow them to permit, on the other hand no visitors are allowed to enter inside the departure side of an airport, the same should be implemented in railway station in order to thrive the smooth operation, time consuming and last but not the least avoid mishap.
